Scoring methodology
AI RANKED exists to give you defensible rankings — not hype. Every public tool is hand-curated for Phase 1, scored on six metrics, and ranked with a transparent formula you can audit.
Six metrics (0–10 each)
- Usefulness— Weight 30%
- Quality— Weight 25%
- Ease of Use— Weight 15%
- Value— Weight 15%
- Reliability— Weight 10%
- Popularity— Weight 5%
Overall score
Overall = 0.30×Usefulness + 0.25×Quality + 0.15×Ease
+ 0.15×Value + 0.10×Reliability + 0.05×PopularityRank score
Rank score adjusts overall quality by validation tier (how thoroughly we verified the product) and future trend momentum. Tier S tools receive the highest confidence boost.
RankScore = Overall×0.72 + TierBoost + TrendBoost×0.13 Tier S → +0.35 Tier A → +0.15 Tier B → +0.00
Validation tiers
Tier S — Flagship products with broad adoption and verified production quality (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot).
Tier A — Strong, legitimate products with clear AI value and professional presence.
Tier B — Valid tools with narrower scope or lighter verification data.
What we don't do
- No paid placement in rankings
- No opaque LLM-only scores without documented weights
- No listing GitHub libraries as end-user products
- No fake trend data or inflated vote counts
